Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Epsilon

Rebecca McQuade is a Junior Elementary Education major at Illinois State University. She is honored to have received the KDE Elizabeth Statlander Scholarship. She has been a part of KDE for two years and on the Executive board for the past year! She loves everything about KDE and puts all of her time and effort into making the best out of the organization. On top of being in KDE, she is a part time student worker on campus, as well as a mentor in College Mentors for Kids. She will be doing a full year student teaching program called PDS in Wheeling, Illinois this fall and she cannot wait to begin this final part of my college career with the help of this scholarship.

Beta Iota Chapter of Kappa Delta Epsilon

Tiffany Reed, a senior education major at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Beta Iota Chapter, received the Frances Carter Scholarship.  Tiffany has served as the president for the past two years.  She was instrumental in increasing membership in the Beta Iota Chapter.  Her organization, drive, and passion are unmatched!  In addition, Tiffany was in charge of an Education Academy that we  conducted for over forty students from Pelham High School.  Tiffany organized the day and developed seminars that were presented to the students, as well as making arrangements for food for the group.  I simply could not do my job without her!  I know Tiffany will make a remarkable teacher.  This scholarship will assist her in finishing her last year of classes. She is one we will all want to watch in the future- I know we will hear many more things about her impact on the lives of children.

Beta Rho Chapter of Kappa Delta Epsilon

My name is Jessica Cruz and I am a Distance Learning student at Judson College in Marion, Al. I have been in the Distance Learning program for almost 3 years and was initiated into the Beta Rho chapter of Kappa Delta Epsilon in October 2015. I only have 10 classes and my internship left before I graduate. I am so excited that it is getting closer to graduation! I would not be where I am today without the trials I have been through making me a stronger person and also without the help and support of my family, friends, professors at Judson, and the staff of KDE awarding me this scholarship.

Hannah Froberg , pictured left, is currently a Junior at Illinois State University, with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. She is honored to have been selected for the KDE Pat Chesebro Scholarship and is currently serving as the President of my Kappa Delta Epsilon chapter. The semester was been one to remember for the KDE chapter; who hosted a school-wide school supply drive, and also set up a student teacher panel for a chapter meeting so that our members could learn more about the student teaching experience! She is grateful for the honor.
